BFT8 System Board
The Boingfire BFT8 system board integrates an Intel® Atom™ x5-E3940 quad-core CPU, 8 GB of onboard DDR4, 4 × Intel® I226-V 2.5GbE interfaces for multi-WAN/VLAN designs, and dual full-size mSATA slots supporting OS-level software RAID for storage resilience. Expansion is engineered for connectivity and customization, with 4 × Mini-PCIe and an M.2 B-key slot for Wi-Fi and 4G/5G modules, plus multiple SIM support, GPIO, watchdog, serial, USB, and 4K micro-HDMI output—delivering a flexible platform for OEMs, integrators, and developers.
Description
The Boingfire BFT8 system board is a compact, fanless edge platform designed for projects that require reliable multi-gig networking, cellular/Wi-Fi expansion, and always-on embedded stability. It is well-suited for open-source firewall/UTM appliances, SD-WAN CPE, multi-WAN VPN gateways, LTE/5G failover routers, industrial IoT gateways, branch-office VoIP/SBC, and virtualized edge nodes (e.g., lightweight Proxmox/containers) where deterministic performance and long-life deployment matter.
